Bathroom Renovation – Shower Plumbing Problems
The contractors didn’t install the shower plumbing or fixtures correctly. The feed for the hand shower should be pointing down rather than up – the way it is here would catch water and feed it behind the wall. The diverter valve above the temperature mixer was also plumbed incorrectly. It should allow us to switch between the hand shower, main shower, and tub faucet, but the tub faucet is connected separately. They couldn’t install the tub faucet because of this. Seems the whole thing will need to be re-plumbed.
We’re having our (only) bathroom remodeled – completely gutted and redone with new tile, tub, toilet, sink, vanity, and lights. We’re also adding a pocket door and an exhaust fan. They estimated 10 days start to finish, but we’re already up to 14 days with several significant problems that still need to be solved, plus time for painting.
