The electrical skills gap is growing nationwide, with London experiencing the most dramatic shortfall. According to analysis from the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), across the country there has been a 5.5 per cent drop in electrical apprenticeship starts, rising to 8% in Greater London and surrounding areas. Candidates gain hands-on experience in modern workshops taught by experienced electrical trainers, complete industry-leading qualifications and have the option to achieve an NVQ with the addition of an on-site portfolio, providing the evidence-based experience needed to be an ECS Gold Card holding electrician. Become an electrician’s mate – City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations: Learn the basics of electrical science, safe working practices and wiring systems, and gain hands-on experience installing cables, sockets, lighting and consumer units, plus all the necessary health & safety. Add PAT testing, which can be offered as a standalone service.
Take the next step to becoming an electrician – City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations: Build advanced knowledge of electrical systems, including inspection, testing and fault finding and work on more complex installations; the ideal preparation for a full NVQ.
Become a fully qualified electrician – City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation & Maintenance: Everything required to become an electrician, ideal for candidates who have access to a site where they can prove their competence by completing a practical portfolio of works. On completion candidates will be eligible to apply for an ECS Gold Card, which identifies the cardholder as a qualified electrician.
Once qualified, Logi4training offers a range of renewable upskill courses, including solar photovoltaics, battery storage and electric vehicle charge point installation.
