Björn Twiehaus Appointed New CEO of the WAGO Group

23 July 2026 by Googler

The WAGO Group is preparing for its next chapter of growth: on 15 September, Björn Twiehaus will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the family-owned company. He succeeds Jürgen Koopsingraven, who currently serves as interim CEO alongside his role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Since pioneering spring pressure connection technology, WAGO has grown into one of the world’s leading providers of electrical interconnection and automation technology, with 31 subsidiaries, 9 production sites, and a presence in more than 80 markets worldwide, including the UK and Ireland. With the appointment of Björn Twiehaus, WAGO will continue this success story and further drive international growth, innovation, and business development.

Björn Twiehaus brings extensive international experience from the electronics and automotive supplier industry. Most recently, he served as CEO of the Marquardt Group, a globally operating, family-owned mechatronics specialist. Before that, the mechanical engineer held various leadership positions at automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA for more than two decades. As a member of the executive board, he was responsible for the Electronics business division there from 2020 onwards, where he drove profitable growth by capitalising on key industry trends such as e-mobility, autonomous driving and connectivity. Björn Twiehaus studied mechanical engineering and additionally completed a degree in business administration.

“First of all, I would like to thank Jürgen Koopsingraven, who has successfully led WAGO while serving as both CEO and CFO with great dedication and will now be able to fully focus on his responsibilities as CFO again,” says Christian Hohorst, shareholder and member of the Supervisory Board of the WAGO Group. “As a family-owned company, we think in generations, not in quarters. Our closeness to our employees and to our customers is what makes us strong. We are delighted to have found in Björn Twiehaus a leader who shares our values as a family business and combines deep technological expertise with international growth experience.”

With Björn Twiehaus as the new CEO, the WAGO Group completes its leadership team. On his new role he says: “WAGO stands for quality, reliability, and pioneering spirit in connection and automation technology. I look forward to shaping the next chapters of this journey together with around 9,000 colleagues worldwide, and to continuing WAGO’s development with a strong customer focus and close alignment to our markets.”
