Signify earns CDP ‘A’ score for climate performance and transparency

9 January 2026 by Googler

Reinforces the value of Signify’s active engagement in public policy and industry collaboration, disclosure of climate-related risks and opportunities and ambitious science-based emissions reduction targets.

Signify, the world leader in lighting, has been recognized on CDP’s annual Climate ‘A’ list for leadership on climate action. The rating reflects excellence across all dimensions of climate leadership, including business strategy, environmental policies, governance, public policy engagement and industry collaboration.

CDP is a global environmental non-profit that evaluates companies on the quality and depth of their environmental disclosures. In 2025, more than 20,000 companies were assessed. Signify’s ‘A’ score recognizes its rigorous reporting, clear understanding of environmental risks, and evidence of best practice, including setting and meeting robust emissions reduction targets.

In 2025, the company made steadfast progress to deliver its Climate Transition Plan, launched in 2024, outlining the company’s climate strategy to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90 per cent across its entire value chain and reach net-zero by 2040. Since 2019, Signify has achieved a 61 per cent absolute reduction in GHG emissions across its entire value chain, including emissions from the product use phase.

Maurice Loosschilder, Global Head of Sustainability at Signify, said: “We are honored to be recognized on CDP’s Climate ‘A’ List, which reflects our unwavering commitment to climate leadership. As we continue this important work, we are pushing even further to cut emissions across our value chain and advance the widespread adoption of energy-efficient lighting technologies that help customers make faster progress toward their own climate ambitions. Leading sustainably strengthens our competitiveness, supports better outcomes from customers, and positions our business for responsible long-term growth.”

Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, said: “Congratulations to all companies on CDP’s A List. Businesses earning an ‘A’ score are proving that environmental ambition and commercial strength go hand in hand. High quality data gives leaders the confidence to make earth-positive decisions that secure long-term competitiveness, attract capital and safeguard natural systems. These organizations show what is possible when transparency becomes the foundation for action.”
