Stopcocks Group Limited – WIT Conference 25 A Conversation with Konnie Huq at WIT 25

12 June 2025 by Googler

Launching in 2017 WIT Conferences have always been innovative, and as the only annual event run by tradeswomen, for tradeswomen and trainees we’re unique. Importantly, thanks to our generous sponsors, WIT this July 4th remains free for all tradeswomen and trainees to attend.

We follow the same basic format, but after talking today to Konnie Huq, our great speaker for this year, we’re especially excited. Konnie is known and loved by everyone, because of her long stint as a presenter of Blue Peter, but she’s also presented a very wide range of TV and radio shows, before as well as after Blue Peter, co-wrote the Black Mirror episode Fifteen Million Merits, and has written several children’s books.

Konnie’s experience working ‘off script’ has led us to decide with her, that for WIT, rather than simply ‘speaking’ she and our MC Hattie Hasan MBE will have a live and wide-ranging conversation, which can naturally morph into a Q&A with event delegates. We can’t wait!
Thanks to our sponsors for keeping this event free for all tradeswomen and trainees, providing an excellent lunch and bringing us such a wonderful guest. These sponsors are:

Vaillant UK, Kohler Mira Ltd, Safe Monitoring Group, City Plumbing, SureServe, Camden Council, Impey Showers, LCL Awards, Octopus Energy, Resideo, Halcyan Water Conditioners, Mark Vitow and Monument Tools.

WIT was started by Hattie Hasan because the low numbers of tradeswomen means that many never meet another all year except for at our events. Various online and WhatsApp groups have sprung up since our first WIT in 2017, but nothing beats meeting in person. It’s a valuable opportunity to share experiences and triumphs with friends and to ask for or offer support. Our theme this year is Keeping Well.
