One of my ‘side jobs’ to MyPR is marketing of products and services on behalf of a family business.
We have a decent and steady long term business in prepaid metering and one of the hot products is a handheld replacement keypad for a locally manufactured prepaid water meter.
Our business philosophy has always been to problem solve, listen to client questions and deliver more than asked.
This has certainly stood us in good stead when the shift to online selling happened.
But, I ramble on too long.

And then what happened when we checked our Search Engine rankings for that query?
We experienced that feeling you get when you dominate the Search Engine Results AND your company is the AI Overview snippet….
Priceless.
All it needs is a mind shift.
In the early days of search engines we all chased single and double word results – “Prepaid Meters” / “prepaid”.
It appears to me that AI is hungry for more than one word to work with so I have shifted to concentrating on long tail keywords – in the form of what type of questions potential clients are asking.
And it seems that we are returning back to the reason why people turned to the internet in the first place – problem solving and answers to burning questions.
At the end of the day sales is about making connections, solving problems and selling on a win win basis – a sentiment as old and true as ever.
